Welcome to Lasting Impressions Letterpress Tasmania - the blogspot for our studio operations and all things Letterpress. We have been setting up and running our studio since 1986 and combine Letterpress printing with Photography and textile art. I'm Dennis Wild and my partner Joanne and I are both committed and passionate about beautiful print processes. We have been living and working here in a natural forest setting which is our sanctuary and natural themes abound in our work. We print on four good platen presses each with a job to do. They range from small Adana 8x5's to our Heidelberg platen and a couple of Chandler and Price hand fed platens. We use hand set type exclusively although we can make photopolymer plates we consider the look of handset to be much sharper. Photography is sometimes turned into photogravures and we use an etching press for that work.
We have maintained a wet process darkroom since the early 1980's and love working with silver based film and prints.
Its early days yet so if you have wandered onto this blog please come back soon. Please Note: All our original text and images are copyright. You must ask for permission before using anything that is our original work.
